Serenity House Project

I have been documenting the final days of Serenity House, the former adult group home located on Bainbridge Island, Washington. It closed in March 2009, due to mismanagement, after operating successfully for several decades. The building and land were sold shortly thereafter.

I don't know the details about the problems. I do know the details, however, of the impact this has had on the lives of former residents.

After a couple of weeks of asbestos abatement, the walls will come down.

Rumor has it that another group home is going to be built on the property and that some former Serenity House residents will be invited back.

This project is dedicated to all those who called it home.
