Artist Statement 2009

The first entry on this blog was my first artist statement. It was short and to the point: I hate artist's statements.

I suspect that artist statements arose out of a fear on the part of people they will look stupid if they don't understand an artist or his work. Either that, or they were started by an artist whose felt that his work was inadequate without some sort of explanation.

I still hate them.
